Then, there are the colorful songs...those that contain the word, color or the word, paint, which is synonymous with color. Many, many songs reflect gold, silver, black, white, yellow, brown, orange, red, pink, blue, blue-green, greenand the color for today, purple.

Nino Tempo & April Stevens (born Antonino and Carol LoTempio) are a brother and sister singing act from Niagara Falls, New York.
Songfacts: Nino and April each had fair solo careers. April had hits with "No No No Not That" (1950, when she was 14), "I'm in Love Again" (1951), and "Teach Me Tiger" (1959); Nino was a session saxophonist. They were teamed by Atlantic Records' owner Ahmet Ertegun, who was also their producer. Ertegun wanted them to record another song called "Paradise" - which they did - but in the 14 minutes of studio time remaining, they also cut "Deep Purple," which was the hit, in two takes. Nino and April knew the song very well, but their session players had to pick it up quickly based on their instructions. The rest is music history...

1963Nino Tempo & April Stevens went to No.1 on the US singles chart with 'Deep Purple', it made No.17 in the UK.The duo had a string of Billboard hits and earned a Grammy Award as "best rock & roll record of the year" in 1963 for the single "Deep Purple".
